Caribbean girl, meet life in Toronto!

Welcome to 868 in the 416! My digital diary documenting my experiences living abroad in Toronto, Canada, as someone who was once brand new to the city - From the island of Trinidad & Tobago!

From navigating life in the city as an international student to a foreign worker, and now as a permanent resident, I aim to share my journey in the hopes of helping other newcomers, or people who are also learning to balance navigating life in a home-away-from-home setting while also trying to stay connected to your roots.

Here you'll find a collection of stories, photos, and videos that highlight my life in Toronto, through the lens of a Caribbean immigrant - From events across the city, tips for making life abroad a little easier, and how I try to stay rooted in my cultural identity while living in a country thousands of miles from home.

I hope to provide a glimpse into what it's like to be a newcomer in a foreign land; The ups, downs, highs, lows, laughing and crying moments of the journey of an immigrant trying to make the most of this terrifyingly, exhilarating experience.
